Me, Bri and love my bicycle, may be the only ones in this circle who really enjoy winter riding. The three of us found the joy of year round bike riding from bike commuting to our jobs.
Although I no longer commute to work per se, I get to ride to my volunteer job for four weeks. Other than that, I still enjoy my almost daily winter rides. Most are under 15 miles round trip and they are more often than not a ride to a coffee shop or super market. I always bring a camera which is pretty obvious.
Thanks John! Gotta say, the three of us look pretty awesome in our balaclava’s. “Hello, winter! We are ready for you!”

I know some folks find that scenery … even depressing. When I get out and ride in it, it elevates my mood and changes the body chemistry and it’s gorgeous.

I find that as long as I dress for the weather, I enjoy the bike ride regardless of the type of weather. Head wind can even be fun if you are ready for it.

Ha! Having fun in a headwind has not happened to me yet. But I have only been riding for a little over five decades.

What, there are people who miss out on the best season for riding? Inconceivable!

Just did a 30-miler at 35F, which isn’t that cold but cold enough. I liked having our 60F+ temps from a week ago, but I suspect the same warmth made for such terrible conditions in the South and Midwest this past week.. Gird you loins. It’s that time of year.

John, I am enjoying riding in the colder weather, & so far I have been easily able to tolerate temps down to 30 degrees. Buying myself some good thermal underwear, wool double layer socks, & a storm hoodie. sure helps a lot. I enjoy riding by the farms in Rochester, & stopping to pet some sheep. Where are the farms located in Fairhaven?

The farms in the post are near the bike path between Gillette Rd and Shaw Rd.
