Weekend InWoodstock, VT.

The family gathered in Vermont  to celebrate an 80th birthday for one of ours. I brought my bike along naturally and did a short ride around the area. It’s not my estate but the owner is part of the family and it’s my first time here.  It’s set on top of a hill in beautiful Woodstock, Vt.   Downtown Woodstock is an eclectic old New England town that is very popular because of it’s proximity to Killington ski resort and the Green Mountains. The main house has multiple bedrooms, bath rooms, an investment wine cellar and all the other things you would expect in an estate.  Wifey and I were given the guest house which is about the size of my house on Cape Cod.  The guest house is three floors and I’m working in the downstairs basement office.

The Office has the perfect ambiance for writing.

The city of Woodstock is a bike friendly place with a good mix of flat roads, moderate hills and an eclectic downtown that makes for some good photography.

The birthday celebration is tonight and dinner will be prepared by a local chef who also made us a wonderful Cape Cod dinner last night with shrimp, scallops and cod fish as the entree.  Tonight is filet mignon with all the fixings.

  1. Great photos of a very warm and pleasant place. I could certainly enjoy spending time in that office and feel quite comfortable working on my writing. I have very fond memories of the summer (’71) I spent in Vermont as a camp counselor. I haven’t been back since, but it’s definitely on the “future” travel list for Carolyn and me. 🙂
