Adventure Cyclist, Nicholas

Earlier in the week while walking my dog I came a cross, Nicholas.
Nick hails from Southern California. He flew to Nova Scotia, Canada and rode south through Main, New Hampshire, Western Massachusetts and Connecticut. There he began his loop back north through Coastal Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

I met him on the MUP near my home and hailed him to stop and chat. He was befuddled asking “do you always stop people bike touring?” “Yes, I responded. I toured for many years and am always keen to hear the riders stories.”

Nick was on his way to Provincetown on outer Cape Cod. I gave him the directions to get over the Bourne Bridge and rt 6A to Ptown. He will then take a bus to Boston and fly back to California.

Years ago I would have been envious. Now at my age, no more. But I do like meeting adventure cyclists.
