All rides are open to anyone. No membership or fees required.

Thursday September 11   9/11 Memorial Ride  Start at Yesteryear Cycles on Hathaway Rd. FBC Fairhaven, Wareham bike and Fall River Bike will join this New Bedford Bike ride
This Thursday is the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in PA, DC, and of course, the WTC in New York.
We are doing an 11 mile ride to commemorate the date. Beginning at Yesteryear Cyclery @6pm, the turn around point will be at the Acushnet Fire Dept’s 9/11 Memorial for a stop, to pay our respects to those we lost on that day. If you haven’t seen the memorial yet, it’s worth the trip. It has artifacts from The Pentagon, the field near Shanksville, PA, and the center piece, a monument using a 6 foot beam from WTC.
As this is later in the day, it is a short ride, giving anyone on the ride, the opportunity to spend as much time as they want at the memorial! All are invited!!!

Saturday September 13   East Bay Bike Path Cafe Ride.   A casual ride beginning at Fort Hill in East Providence to Bristol R.I.  We lollygag in Bristol over a light breakfast and coffee before returning to East Providence. (Fort Hill is the large parking lot closest to India Point).

Sunday September 14th.  Narragansett Bay Wheelmen Hope Valley-extra ride.

Hope Valley-Charlestown-Richmond
Start at the Stop & Shop Plaza, Rt 138, Richmond, RI. Take I-95 South to Exit 3-A; go left at the exit and left into the
plaza parking lot. Please park well away from the stores. (Note: This lot is just on the other side of Rt. 95 from our old
start in the Chariho Plaza, which we have been told not to use.)
Drive Time
40 minutes from Providence
This popular ride was created by Tina Williams to include many of our favorite roads in this area. The basic ride is a
scenic 18 mile loop, with the possibility of taking 3 extra loops. Choose 1, 2 or all 3 loops. Loop #3’s return along Rt. 3 is
one of RI’s best downhills. This ride was formerly called the Hope Valley Extra, but we took out the challenging “hero”
loop, so there is no extra this year.

  1. Hi there! I am a fellow blogger who is new to the Cape Cod area. I am working with the Buzzards Bay Coalition to promote their upcoming Watershed Ride event on Sunday, October 5th and I was wondering if it is something you would be interested in mentioning/ featuring it on A Midnight Rider.

The event has a 75 or 35-mile ride option starting in Westport (the 35 mile option starts in Rochester) and ends with a Finish Line Party in Woods Hole. Registration is $30 and participants are asked to raise $300 towards the Coalitions mission to ensure clean water and protect Buzzards Bay. You can find more information on and I’d be happy to answer any questions, provide photos from previous events, etc. You can reach me at – thanks!

    1. I have done some posts concerning the training ride. I have a post up now about the two upcoming fundraising rides. Yours is part of the post.
p.s. I am also working your ride as a volunteer.

      1. Oh that’s great! I’m sorry I didn’t see it, I was just searching for some cycling blogs in the area and yours came up! Thank you so much for your support and for volunteering, hope to see you there!
