Monday Morning Bike Ride

Drawing a Blank

When was the last time your walked away from a discussion, only to think of The Perfect Comeback hours later? Recreate the scene for us, and use your winning line.

I didn’t have a plan for today’s ride. That’s why the beginning is random things about the city.  I was drawing a blank and it became clear to let the video tell the story with the music.

Rainy, lousy weather is predicted for the next few days.  Deciding to forego the gym and going for a bike ride was an easy choice.  I took one of the usual routes into the city of New Bedford, MA.  It’s a coastal city that was once the whaling capital. When whaling died out,  New Bedford flowed with the times and became a textile giant and the home of Berkshire Hathaway.  The textile industry moved south and the city became adapted once more taking advantage of the location and became the fishing and scallop capital still holding that distinction.

The point I’m making is that whenever I take a bike ride, there is lots of water, lots of boats and a few big ships making appearances.  Today was not different.

My intention was to do a fitness ride and not stop to take photos.  To help insure that I left my still camera home and took my hand held video camera.
