Another video from last night’s crazy concert at the Narrows in Fall River, MA
I was testifying for a week about an upcoming show at the Narrows Performing Arts center in Fall River, MA. Sister Sparrow, a Brooklyn band brought down the house. The video is long, but worth every note. If not, it’s also good if you simply skip around. I have been to lots of shows and Sister Sparrow is in the top five without a doubt.
The last two Friday night concerts were not so good. This week we were treated to a band of professional musicians that included a 5 time Grammy winner Reginald Grant who played sax with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes on the hit songs “if You Don’t Know Me By Now” “Bad Luck” and “The Love I Lost”. The Boston Soul Review kept the house rocking with their mix of R&B, Soul and Jazz. The band brought along the backup singers from the Brittany Spears tour. They are know as Foxx, but I couldn’t find anything on the net about them.
The city is putting on these free concerts on pier 3 which is also where the high speed ferry to Martha’s Vineyard is located. Downtown New Bedford has made wonderful progress over the last couple of years making it a short term destination for tourists. The city is not there yet but the progress is obvious. Kudos to Mayor Mitchell and his staff for not only making this a tourist spot but also working on the infrastructure making the city a bike friendly community.
