Two fundraising rides are approaching. The Woonasquatucket Watershed Ride on September 21 and the Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on October 5th. The Woony Ride is a flat $40 fee with a variety of mileage choices. Raising additional money is encouraged but not a requirement.
We have more options for this, our 5th Annual bike-a-thon fundraiser for the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council! Ride 62, 50, 30, 10 or 5 miles with full support from our brilliant and steadfast team of volunteers.
The Woony Ride brings out families and avid cyclists from the all over the region to enjoy the beauty of the Woonasquatucket River, a historic asset to the state of Rhode Island. It’s a fully supported ride, and it ends with an AFTER-PARTY at Waterplace Park in Downtown Providence – live music, food, and awesome prizes for fundraisers!
The Buzzards Bay Watershed ride has an initial $30 registration fee and requires a rider to raise an additional minimum of $300.
Celebrate the beauty of the Buzzards Bay region by participating in the Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride! Whether you’re an avid cyclist or a casual rider, you’ll enjoy a fun, scenic ride with 75-mile and 35-mile route options. And you’ll raise funds to protect clean water for all
For directions to Fort Hill bike path access search for directions to intersection of Mercer Street and Veterans Memorial Parkway in East Providence through Google Maps or GPS. Parking is overlooking the river on the West side of the highway.

Thursday September 11 9/11 Memorial Ride Start at Yesteryear Cycles on Hathaway Rd. FBC Fairhaven, Wareham bike and Fall River Bike will join this New Bedford Bike ride
This Thursday is the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in PA, DC, and of course, the WTC in New York.
We are doing an 11 mile ride to commemorate the date. Beginning at Yesteryear Cyclery @6pm, the turn around point will be at the Acushnet Fire Dept’s 9/11 Memorial for a stop, to pay our respects to those we lost on that day. If you haven’t seen the memorial yet, it’s worth the trip. It has artifacts from The Pentagon, the field near Shanksville, PA, and the center piece, a monument using a 6 foot beam from WTC.
As this is later in the day, it is a short ride, giving anyone on the ride, the opportunity to spend as much time as they want at the memorial! All are invited!!!
Saturday September 13 East Bay Bike Path Cafe Ride. A casual ride beginning at Fort Hill in East Providence to Bristol R.I. We lollygag in Bristol over a light breakfast and coffee before returning to East Providence. (Fort Hill is the large parking lot closest to India Point).
Sunday September 14th. Narragansett Bay Wheelmen Hope Valley-extra ride.

The Buzzards Bay Coalition organized a series of bike rides leading up to the Buzzards Bay Coalition Watershed Ride on October 5th. Today was the fifth of six training rides taking the group on an 18 mile spin along the waterfronts of New Bedford and Fairhaven, MA.
The day started out misty with a strong easterly breeze. Actually it was a strong wind that stiffened any flag that dared to fly. Small craft warnings were posted for Buzzards Bay and Clarks Cove making half the ride a pretty good workout. Eventually the sun broke through and the humidity settled just in time to end the ride.
