I have been traveling, seems like forever. Colorado, Portugal, Atlanta and I did have one more trip planned for Thursday, flying to Florida, but that got canceled. So without further procrastination, I’m finally back on the bike. Probably tomorrow. Next Saturday October 19, should be a hoot with the first of three Halloween themed rides. (I’ll post about them Monday.) The fun begins with a full moon ride, but I have two to from which to choose. Both in Rhode Island and I’m strongly leaning to Newport, just for a change from the usual full moon ride with The Fall River Bike gang, who normally ride on the Friday closest to the Full Moon. A three day nor’easter kind of put the kibosh on that, forcing a date change.

Sunday morning, the couple traveling with us asked for a ride to a church. While they were doing whatever people do in churches, I decided to do something constructive by walking around the village and take some photos.
The place was a fishing town and the harbor was cooler than turning over a pillow at night. I got to experience life at it’s best. The other couple? They chanted some, and gave away their money. I wanted to suggest that they were adults, and too old to be believing in that stuff, but I fear their brainwashing is just to embedded.
I always bring a camera on my daily bike rides. Very often, none of the random pictures I take are seen by anyone else. Days like today however a theme develops, and once I realize it, I make it a point to stick to it. For lack of a better title, I’m going with, “things that fly.”

See that majestic blue heron in the background?

Let’s zoom in for a closer look. Who knew?

There are lots of better looking fowl on the waterways of Cape Cod
I’ll be on a road trip the next two weekends visiting soccer venues far and closer to home. Sunday the 29th I’ll be at Estádio de São in São Miguel, Açores, to watch Santa Clara take on Gil Vicente.
The following weekend I’ll be traveling to Atlanta to watch New England take on United playing the final game of the regular season. This could be the deciding game for New England to qualify for post season play. Mercedes Benz Stadium is a favorite of mine to be in the stands and at the “gulch” for pregame festivities, because every game feels like a Champions League or World Cup match. United is known to out draw the city’s football team more often than not.
