This Thursday is the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in PA, DC, and of course, the WTC in New York.
We are doing an 11 mile ride to commemorate the date. Beginning at Yesteryear Cyclery @6pm, the turn around point will be at the Acushnet Fire Dept’s 9/11 Memorial for a stop, to pay our respects to those we lost on that day. If you haven’t seen the memorial yet, it’s worth the trip. It has artifacts from The Pentagon, the field near Shanksville, PA, and the center piece, a monument using a 6 foot beam from WTC.
As this is later in the day, it is a short ride, giving anyone on the ride, the opportunity to spend as much time as they want at the memorial! All are invited!!!
Saturday September 13 East Bay Bike Path Cafe Ride. A casual ride beginning at Fort Hill in East Providence to Bristol R.I. We lollygag in Bristol over a light breakfast and coffee before returning to East Providence. (Fort Hill is the large parking lot closest to India Point).
Sunday September 14th. Narragansett Bay Wheelmen Hope Valley-extra ride.
Bike The Bay Series

The Buzzards Bay Coalition organized a series of bike rides leading up to the Buzzards Bay Coalition Watershed Ride on October 5th. Today was the fifth of six training rides taking the group on an 18 mile spin along the waterfronts of New Bedford and Fairhaven, MA.
The day started out misty with a strong easterly breeze. Actually it was a strong wind that stiffened any flag that dared to fly. Small craft warnings were posted for Buzzards Bay and Clarks Cove making half the ride a pretty good workout. Eventually the sun broke through and the humidity settled just in time to end the ride.
