Say Hello To a Bike Blogging Friend, Bri

I have met a few new bloggers who ride bicycles on WordPress. A couple like to ride in extreme weather, but there is one young lady, who is new to bike riding that has taken that to the extreme. She loves to ride in snow storms and cold winter mornings before daybreak. Bri, also testifies about the benefits of riding her bike to her cooking job, every day.
Today, snow is predicted for late morning here on Cape Cod, as soon as I finish this post, I’m going to hop on my bike and ride in the snow squall to go shopping for tonight dinner ingredients. It’ Healthy Skillet Chicken Parmesan, with home made sauce.
You should visit Bri on her site, Bike Like Crazy. I have a feeling you will enjoy her refreshing style of writing, even if she is a bit extreme on her bike riding. Tell her a midnight rider sent you

A Very Serene Bike Ride

It turned out to be a nice morning and there was a club bike ride scheduled to begin at 10 AM. That was too late for me and since this 25 mile East Bay Bike Path route in Rhode Island was a ride I had done dozens of times, I decide on an earlier start. (And finish). For years the website crazyguyonabike was the go to journal host for those who traveled by bike.  People from around the world post their bike adventures that ranged from the week long ride along the Erie Canal to the multi year bike ride around the world.  Crazy guy had a build in audience that gave the riders the motivation to keep their journal up to date to satisfy their fans.   It’s where I caught the bug by following the journal of a 25 year old NYC kid riding his bike across America solo.

This post is just a front for the video at the end.  Skip all this and scroll down.

As I rode by the salt marsh I could hear the crackling of the ice breaking away.  The over night temperature was in the single digits, but the day eventually warmed to 40 F. Continue reading “Even the Salt Water Froze”
